Baby Pineapple — All the Sweetness, None of the Leftovers
A regular pineapple is often more fruit than one person can realistically get through before it turns. Baby pineapple solves that problem by being a genuinely miniature variety rather than an unripe regular one — small enough to finish in a sitting or two, with a sweetness that's often more concentrated than its full-size relative. The bonus most people don't expect: the core, which is woody and usually discarded in a regular pineapple, is tender enough here to eat right along with the rest. Ripeness is judged the same way as any pineapple — a sweet, fragrant smell at the base, skin turning golden rather than green, and a leaf from the crown that pulls out with a gentle tug when it's ready.

-
How to tell when it's ripe
Check for a sweet smell at the base, golden rather than green skin, and a leaf from the crown that pulls out easily with a gentle tug.
-
How to cut & use Baby Pineapple
Slice off the crown and base, cut away the skin, then slice into rings or wedges. The tender core is edible — no need to remove it.

How to store Baby Pineapple
Unripe: room temperature, out of direct sun, a few days to ripen. Ripe: refrigerate, use within 3-5 days. Cut fruit: airtight container, use within 2-3 days.
Slice it into rings or wedges and eat the core along with the rest — no need to cut it out like you would with a regular pineapple.
Rich in vitamin C and manganese, plus bromelain, a natural enzyme — all in a single-serving size that's easy to finish without waste.
