Irwin BIO — The Mango Japan Pays a Fortune For, Grown Organically
Bred in Florida in 1939 from a cross of Haden and Lippens, Irwin went on to become one of the most prized mangoes in Asia — it's the variety behind Japan's famous Miyazaki mangoes, grown there under such careful conditions that a single fruit can sell for a small fortune. This BIO version brings the same qualities without the ceremony: thin, smooth skin that ripens from green to yellow-orange with a striking, deep crimson blush — and unlike Kent, that colour change is genuinely useful here, since a darker red generally means a riper fruit. Inside, the flesh is smooth, melting, with a sweet flavour carrying subtle floral and citrus notes that give Irwin its nickname, "apple mango." Grown organically without synthetic pesticides, it's easy to slice, dice, or scoop with a spoon.

How to tell when Irwin is ripe
Unlike Kent, colour helps here — look for a deepening red-crimson blush over the yellow-orange base. Confirm with a gentle squeeze; ripe gives slightly.
-
How to cut & use Irwin Mango BIO
Halve around the small, flat seed. The fiberless flesh scoops cleanly with a spoon or slices thin for fruit boards without any stringy bits.

How to store Irwin Mango BIO
Unripe: room temperature, out of direct sun, 2-4 days to ripen. Ripe: refrigerate, use within 3-4 days. Cut fruit: airtight container, use within 2 days.
Its fiberless flesh works beautifully sliced for fruit boards, diced into salsas, or blended into smoothies — the floral, citrusy notes shine in all of them.
A great source of vitamin C, vitamin A, and antioxidants, grown without synthetic pesticides — a nutrient-dense treat with genuine floral complexity.
Very good. Really juicy.
Fast delivery, I ate mango, excellent! Thanks a lot.
