Acco Pomegranate — The Spanish Variety Grown for Juice, Sweetness, and an Extraordinary Antioxidant Profile
Acco is the pomegranate variety chosen by serious juice producers and nutritionists — selected specifically for its exceptionally juicy arils, balanced sweet-tart flavour, and one of the highest antioxidant concentrations of any commercially grown pomegranate. The arils are a deep ruby red, bursting with juice that's intensely flavoured without the harsh bitterness some varieties carry. Pomegranate's headline nutrient is punicalagin — a polyphenol compound found almost exclusively in pomegranates that has been the subject of substantial research into cardiovascular health, inflammation reduction, and its role as one of the most potent antioxidants in the food world, with two to three times the antioxidant activity of red wine or green tea. Our BIO Acco pomegranates are grown in Andalusia, Spain, without synthetic pesticides, and arrive ready to eat with no ripening required.

How to open a pomegranate without making a mess
Score the skin lightly in quarters from top to bottom — don't cut all the way through. Break apart gently with your hands over a large bowl of water. The arils (seeds) drop and sink to the bottom; the white pith floats to the top. Skim off the pith, drain the water, and you have clean arils with zero mess and no purple stains.

How to use pomegranate arils
Eat straight as a snack — each aril is a burst of sweet-tart juice with a satisfying crunch from the edible seed. Sprinkle over green salads for a sweet contrast, over yoghurt and granola at breakfast, or over roasted cauliflower and lamb for a Middle Eastern-inspired dinner. Blend and strain for pomegranate juice, or reduce into a pomegranate molasses for sauces and glazes.

How to store pomegranates
Whole pomegranates: room temperature up to 1 week, or fridge up to 2 months — one of the longest-keeping fresh fruits available. Opened arils: airtight container in fridge, up to 5 days. Freeze arils in a single layer on a tray, then bag — frozen arils keep 6 months and are excellent straight from frozen over yoghurt.
Score the skin in quarters, break apart in a bowl of water — arils sink, white pith floats. Drain and eat. Sprinkle over salads, yoghurt, and desserts, or juice for one of the most antioxidant-rich drinks you can make.
Contains punicalagins — among the most potent antioxidants known, 2-3× the activity of red wine or green tea. Supports cardiovascular health. Rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and folate. BIO — no pesticides.
